Malay Language Month Competition (Malay Department) 2017
9 of our Marsilians took part in 3 competitions in conjunction with Malay Language Month which was held at various venues on different dates. All of them showed tremendous hardwork and confidence during rehearsals and actual performance. For most of them, this is their first time participating in such competitions. It was a great experience for all of them.
First Competition: Nadra Arissa (2 Respect) and Edelwise (2Honesty) participated in Juara Si Cilik 2017 (Singing of Malay Folk Song Competition) on the 9th September 2017 at the Malay Heritage Centre. Both of them sang beautifully, confidently and enjoyed performing on stage. They received the consolation prize.

Second Competition: Dania Filzah (2 Patience), A’isy (4 Patience), Nadra Arissa (2 Respect) and Putri Emily (4 Diligence) participated in Nyidra Competition (Musical Drama) on the 12th September at the Woodlands Regional Library. Dania Filzah and A’isy won 2nd place in P1-2 and P3-5 Categories respectively. Nadra Arissa and Putri Emily received consolation prize. The audiences were very entertained by performance.

Third Competition: Nur Aleeya Maisara (5 Harmony), Nurul Tsuraiyaa (5 Courage), Erika Elisha (5 Kindness) and Md Adryan ( 5 Kindness) participated in the 5-minute Drama Competition organised by Perkumpulan Seni. The title of their drama is Soal Kahwin with the given theme, Malay Culture. They enjoyed “talking about marriage” on stage so much that they won the 3rd prize in the competition.

N5 PESTA BUDAYA (N5 CULTURAL COMPETITION) 2017
Congratulations to the team of Primary 5 students for emerging as 1st in the Drama Competition.
On top of that, Putri Emily Joehaidi of 4 Diligence and Puteri Nur Syaira of 4 Patience came in 1st in the Syair Competition.
A group of Primary 2 boys came in 3rd in the Malay Folk Song Singing Competition.

Outstanding Deaf Student Award 2016
Tracey Yak from 5 Respect is the winner of the Outstanding Deaf Student Award 2016.
This award is conferred annually by the Singapore Association for the Deaf to recognise the achievements of deaf individuals. This year, Tracey is the only winner for the primary category.
Tracey is a role model to her peers and juniors.As a prefect, she carries out her duties confidently and respectfully. As a student, she displays strong values, always eager to learn, lead and serve. With her tenacity and zest to excel, she overcomes challenges and difficulties in life.
