The Primary 5 Outdoor Adventure Learning Cohort Camp is a fun and exciting outdoor program filled with team-bonding games and activities.
The OAL Cohort Camp challenges students to strive and unleash their potential to excel not only in their studies but also in life.
Activities like low and high rope elements, trail walks, problem-solving, and rock climbing bring out the best in students and forge strong bonds among the students and teachers during the camp.
Lower Primary Games (LPG)
Lower Primary students are taught a variety of fundamental movements (locomotor and non-locomotor skills) and manipulative skills during PE lessons.
The Lower Primary Games is an annual sports event for Primary 1 and 2 students to showcase their PE skills by taking part in exciting games. They will perform and demonstrate what they have learned in PE in front of their parents, who are specially invited to the event.
Parents get to participate in the parent-child game during the event. This parent-child game not only helps to build and strengthen their relationship, but it also allows parents to understand what their child is learning during PE lessons and its importance in the holistic development of the child.
Inter-Class Games
The Inter-Class Games aim to develop strong teamwork and sportsmanship among students, and to promote the importance of regular physical engagement in sports and games. It also helps to develop resilience, which is one of the school values, in the mind and body.
Students from Primary 3 to 6 will have the opportunity to represent their class and participate in the annual Inter-Class Games. These games are held during the PE curriculum after the students have learned and mastered the skills for a particular sport/game module.
Through the games, students are exposed to a wide variety of sporting activities such as Captain's Ball, Floorball, modified Volleyball, and Tchoukball.
Sports Education Programme: Archery
Archery is introduced to Primary 6 students as part of the Sports Education Programme to encourage sports participation in schools and increase sporting opportunities for the young.
Archery is a great sport for boosting students' mental and physical health and fitness. Archers not only require physical strength, but they also need mental fitness to develop their focus, flexibility, and attention skills.
Archery teaches students to be responsible for one another’s safety and for the equipment they use during the programme.
Sports Education Programme: Kin-Ball
Kin-Ball is introduced to Primary 4 students as part of the Sports Education Programme to encourage sports participation in schools and increase sporting opportunities for the young.
Kin-Ball is a fun, easy-to-play and exciting team bonding game. The game is akin to a game of a volleyball but played with a huge inflated ball. The game helps to promote communication and teamwork amongst students.
Sports Education Programme: Trampoline
Rebounding is introduced to Primary 1 and 2 students as part of the Sports Education Programme to encourage sports participation in schools and increase sporting opportunities for the young.
Rebounding is a type of aerobic exercise performed while jumping on a mini trampoline. It is key to developing the ABCs (agility, balance, coordination) skills necessary for children to enjoy a variety of other sports and games. Students will get to experience rebounding to the tempo of music during the programme.
Junior Sports Academy (JSA) Programme
MOE provides broad-based opportunities for primary school students to explore, discover, and develop their areas of interest and strengths across a wider range of physical activities through the Junior Sports Academy (JSA) programme.
Selected students from the JSA selection trials will subsequently be invited to participate in sport modules and sports-related workshops.
With enhanced overall motor skills, knowledge, and motivation, these students will be able to make more informed choices when committing to a sport at secondary school or in other relevant sports organisations.
